This was the first piece we’ve done in Art 4 and I really enjoyed it. It was cool to do a piece that reflected us. I picked the sunglasses piece because I loved the pop of blue and I knew it would be a challenge for me. The thing that was hard for me to do was thinking of the blue tint in the shades. I have never done something like that before so it was different to think about. It took some practice with the blues and teals on paper before I could start my final to get a feel of how to shade the objects in the lens. Prismacolor is a medium I enjoy, but it takes me a long time to do. So to be able to finish in time I switched the background to wood since grass would take way too long. Some things I liked about my drawing is the metal of the sunglasses. The only other Prismacolor piece I did was all metal so I had experience with drawing that texture. The other thing I like is the colors; that blue is like my favorite color, so being able to use so much of it was fun. Overall I’m happy with how it turned out, but would go back and add more layers if given more time.
